Help Us Reinvent Trade Compliance Technology
Quickcode is a fast-moving AI-native software company building best-in-class global trade management solutions for the import/export trade compliance industry, a critical field that has been underserved by technology investment.
Our award-winning product is live and revenue-generating. Demand in our space is strong and accelerating as the trade environment drives enterprises to seek new solutions that leverage automation and AI-driven compliance. We work closely with a loyal and growing customer base, including multiple Fortune 500 companies, to solve meaningful, real-world problems. We listen, experiment, learn, move quickly, and rapidly redirect when that’s the right answer. We are looking for people who find that energizing – people who are curious, eager to learn, and willing to consider that something previously viewed as impossible may actually be possible.
Quickcode offers the opportunity to help shape not only our products, but also how our company grows. You will work alongside smart, committed colleagues and customers who care about improving trade compliance. We take the work seriously, while also ensuring Quickcode is a collaborative, rewarding, and fun place to work.
The Opportunity
Quickcode is seeking a Trade Compliance Subject Matter Expert, reporting to the company’s CEO, to serve as a key connection among our product team, software developers, and customers.
This is a remote, full-time position. While our team works across US locations, we are a close-knit group that collaborates closely, communicates frequently, and works with shared purpose every day.
This role is multi-faceted. You will use your industry experience to help your colleagues, support our customers, and help create and test software that makes compliance professionals more effective. You will help our product team identify customer challenges, translate them into product requirements, and test our solutions against real-world scenarios.
You do not need to be a software developer. You do need to be excited about technology, interested in learning how great software is built, and enjoy experimenting, asking questions, and challenging assumptions.
This role is ideal for an experienced trade compliance professional who wants to help build something new and have a meaningful voice in the direction of a growing company.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a trusted adviser to Quickcode’s customers, product team, software developers, and other internal stakeholders.
- Help translate complex trade compliance processes into clear, actionable business and functional requirements.
- Evaluate proposed features and workflows from the perspective of an experienced trade compliance professional.
- Perform functional and user-acceptance testing of Quickcode’s products.
- Help our product and development teams understand trade compliance rules, terminology, operational realities, exceptions, and edge cases.
- Develop realistic test scenarios, document results, identify defects, and confirm issues are resolved.
- Support customer onboarding, training, and product adoption as needed.
- Respond to customer questions regarding the product, compliance, and other related matters.
- Stay current on developments in trade compliance and identify opportunities for new products and capabilities.
- Look beyond a customer’s initial request to identify the underlying problem and explore creative ways to solve it.
- Contribute to a culture of curiosity, experimentation, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience in a trade compliance organization, such as:
- A manufacturer, importer, or exporter
- A customs brokerage
- An in-house global trade or customs compliance function
- A comparable trade compliance environment.
- Experience with classification, customs valuation, country of origin, free trade agreements, entry processes, duty management, broker oversight, or import/export recordkeeping.
- Deep understanding of trade compliance processes, the day-to-day workflows of compliance professionals, and how they integrate broadly across the enterprise.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong critical-thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Intellectual curiosity about technology and how it can transform trade compliance work.
- An eagerness to learn new concepts, tools, processes, and ways to excel.
- A willingness to question assumptions and consider that the “impossible” may be possible.
- Comfort making progress when every answer is not yet known.
- The ability to move quickly without losing sight of accuracy, quality, or customer needs.
- Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to testing and documentation.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
- Comfort communicating proactively and staying connected with colleagues and customers across locations.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for working in an environment where priorities and products can evolve quickly.
- Availability for quarterly travel to meet with customers and colleagues.
Experience That Would Be Helpful
- Experience implementing, administering, or testing trade compliance software.
- Experience developing business requirements, process maps, test scripts, or user-acceptance testing plans.
- Experience training users or explaining complex compliance concepts to different audiences.
- Familiarity with SaaS products, agile software development, or product management practices.
You’ll Thrive at Quickcode If You…
- Ask thoughtful questions and enjoy learning.
- Get excited about solving problems without obvious answers.
- See changing direction as part of building something better.
- Are willing to test an idea, learn from the result, and try again.
- Enjoy moving between customer conversations, product strategy, and hands-on testing.
- Communicate clearly and proactively in a remote environment.
- Want your experience and ideas to have a visible impact.
- Like working with talented, committed people who take the mission seriously without taking themselves too seriously.
- Are energized by the opportunity – and occasional ambiguity – that comes with helping build a great company.
Why Quickcode?
